When the walls fell down, people across Nepal lost people dear to them. Many also lost their homes and their work. In the months and years ahead, we will support their efforts to re-establish themselves - both through physical reconstruction and through new initiatives, such as an orphanage within the Trungram Monastery complex.
Rebuilding the Trungram Monastery at Sankhu
As the monks and nuns of the Trungram Monastery try to help people in the surrounding towns, they are in desperate need of help themselves. With large cracks in the walls, the monastery itself is unsafe. Monks and nuns are sleeping outdoors. They have lost their living quarters. Their school. Their home.
