Who We Are

  • Buddhist Relief Services is a project of the United Trungram Buddhist Foundation (UTBF, part of the Fellowship). This all-volunteer organization was founded to strengthen UTBF’s humanitarian efforts, prompted by the devastating earthquake in Nepal on April 25, 2015.
  • At its launch, the project organizes relief personnel and coordinates efforts to help Nepal. It has established a special fund - the Buddhist Relief Services Fund - for disaster relief and other humanitarian aid.
  • UTBF was first established in Nepal by H.E. Trungram Gyaltrul Rinpoche for charity and humanitarian work.
  • Both the Buddhist Relief Services and UTBF work closely with other groups and organizations under Rinpoche's guidance, especially Dharmakaya, an organization established to teach wellbeing through the skills of awareness.

Our mission

Acting with love and compassion is integral to the path taught by Buddha.

When disaster strikes, where suffering is intense, we have the opportunity to make the best use of our precious human life.
